Cracked Screen? Broken Phone? Buy a Inexpensive Replacement Android Smartphone!
Here’s my review of the unlocked Juning 5 inch Dual SIM Android 5.1 Quad Core Smartphone! First of all, did you hear me!?!?!? It’s an UNLOCKED PHONE. This means you don’t get locked into any contract or carrier. If your carrier just isn’t cutting it, pull out and go to the next carrier. Same with this phone – for the money you can’t beat it!!! If at some point you need a better camera, more speed, bigger display – the money you’ve saved with this phone will allow you to buy another phone! And I will say JUNING seems to make a great phone for the price.
Here’s some technical details you’ll want to know:
- The phone is 3G ONLY. Not a huge deal, but if you’re looking for LTE speeds – you’ll need to upgrade to a better phone. For me, this is a non-issue because my WiFi speeds blow LTE out of the water. Plus if you’re on a limited data monthly contract, all LTE will do for you is make you run out of data that much quicker!
- The design is very slick, easy to hit buttons and feels good in your hand as you use it. It’s very stylish without being too boxy or too futuristic. Has ports for USB CHARGING on the top of the phone (why don’t more vendors do this?!?!) and a port for headphones.
- The headphones that come with it are eh… not great, but it’s okay. Again, for the price it’s more than adequate.
- Camera performs decent indoors (all androids seem to be slow to take the picture) but really works best outside. The flash actually works pretty good.
- The display is big and bright for sure…. you can see it clearly outside even in broad daylight!
- Bluetooth is only v2 but don’t let that fool you. It worked perfectly with my speakers and headset.
- Mobile network speeds are good, but WiFi was flawless. It does support 3G(WCDMA) and 2G(GSM) – just not 4G LTE. (maybe they’ll come out with an LTE version!?!?)
- Operating System is stable, hasn’t crashed on me at all. It was running 5.1 but as soon as I booted it up, there was an over the air update that pushed down a new version – that worked seamlessly. No issues whatsoever!
- Battery life is okay. Just okay. It does the job, but you do have to charge it pretty often depending on what you’re doing. I always have a battery pack with me so it’s not a huge issue for me – but if you’re someone who sits on social media all the time or streams music – you might find this annoying. But a lot of my friends with Android phones also complain about battery life too, so I don’t know.
My take on this phone is as follows: It’s much better than I had expected for $50. Way more than I had expected. It’s sleek and stylish and is perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to get locked into a contract but still wants a full-featured phone. At that price, if you crack your screen, I would definitely consider buying this phone instead — unless you’re a brand name person and absolutely have to have Samsung or LG or whatever…. I ended up giving this phone to the little guy (his graduation present) and HE LOVES IT!!! He loves playing his games (he’s 5 years old) and at this price, when he smashes the screen (which it’s a WHEN not an IF!!!) I’ll be coming back to Juning to buy a new phone for sure. He also loves the fact that he can take his own pictures…. I wish I had a cell phone when I was 5 years old!!!
The old saying “you get what you pay for” applies to this and every other thing in this world! People ask me all the time for recommendations on products, and it comes down to what do you want out of the product, and how much are you willing to spend. When I review a product, I take the product’s performance relative to the price and use that as the benchmark for review. This product was sent for free in exchange for my 100% unbiased and honest review — but I assure you these words are very much my own and I have now had a couple weeks with the product so I can give you the in’s and out’s of it.
