Great solar powered fountain pump!
I have a backyard pond that I have pumps that circulate the water pretty often – as standing water attracts mosquitoes. I feel guilty keeping the pumps on 24/7 though as electricity all adds up to money spent! I had an opportunity to have this product sent to me for free in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. I figured I could use it if it worked, and if it didn’t I’d be sure to tell you!!!!
At first when I unboxed this fountain pump I was shocked at how small it was. I was very disappointed at first glance. It was tiny compared to my other pumps. I didn’t know what to think!!! It had a couple small couplers that attached easily and a couple fountain head options. Nothing really to it. Again, BIGTIME SKEPTICAL.
It said to attach to the base of the pond, bird bath, etc. to avoid vibration. I tried this, but the suction cups did not work for me – slippery pond conditions didn’t lend itself well to using it in this fashion. But i’m actually really glad it didn’t work!!! Because I found something so much better.
A FLOATING FOUNTAIN!!!!!!
It worked great in the pond as a floater. It took a bit for the solar energy to charge up but after a little bit of time, the fountain really took off. Is it as powerful as my $60 or $100 pumps? No. Not at all. But it also doesn’t have electric cords and doesn’t consume electricity. It looks really cool too!!!
Bottom line: I give this 5 STARS because it’s an inexpensive way to keep water circulating in a pond or bird bath without electricity and looks darn cool!!!
