Summertime BBQ is Kitchen Tongs Season!!
I can tell you from experience that when I grill out, especially with chicken or hamburgers, I ALWAYS fear that I’m going to have raw meat on my tongs. Always. I run inside, run the water to get it super hot, then I rinse it off for 30 seconds, then wipe it with a bunch of paper towels. Seems excessive? Yeah, probably. but I just don’t want to get sick from food poisoning. It’s really that simple. Whenever possible, I like to use fresh tongs once it has been cooked on one side and I flip it over because I figure the bacteria and whatever else will be killed on the next flip — but who has a whole bunch of tongs laying around? ESPECIALLY on day #2 of a BBQ. My tongs are usually on the top rack of the dishwasher waiting for the rest of the dirty dishes to make a full load.
I had an opportunity to get this set highly discounted in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Perfect. I usually try and select products that I really could use!! (not just pick something that I have absolutely NO use for!) Product arrived quick, packaging was absolutely nothing special. If you’re looking for a flashy gift box, you’re not finding it here.
But what you will find is great kitchen tongs at and even better price!! Huge value for the money. I paid $15 if memory serves me for the other pair I have right now and the locking mechanism is HORRIBLE! I always end up pinching my fingers. These tongs are solid, easy to grip, simple to latch (just pull out the “O” ring) and feel like durable quality. They grip your food nicely and I seriously see nothing wrong with them whatsoever. At $10.95!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Yeah, you can’t afford NOT to buy these.
